You have to set "enable" on, "trgsmp" on and "voxtrg" off in the trig page
of sample&hold. This will sample the input (midi cc a-h) for every note
played.
I'll try this max/msp thing now. I didn't know about it, and I hope this
will do the trick.

could you elaborate on this? i understand the concept, but i'm not sure
exactly how to set up the sample&hold.
and, i intended on using max/msp for the midi work. it's a very
straightforward (well, with respect to other languages) graphic programming
language if you're not familiar.

Well, as a typical computer engineer, i'll give you now the service pack 1
for my previous response...
Midi modulators are monophonic, so it will not work. You need to use them
through Sample&Hold, which is polyphonic :P
