[A6] newbie keyboard split question

(Back to the list, since my off-list advice was of the most basic/general variety)
These are bizarre symptoms. It's possible, I suppose, that global parameters are set oddly, or there are failing voices, or corrupt program(s) (isn't Andromedizer a patch-randomizer? could that cause the kind of patch that requires wiping the program?), but there's no way to tell from here. A faulty keyboard is certainly possible (mine came with one "difficult" key that needed the contact cleaned), but a regular distribution of missing notes seems odd ...
Do all the voices auto-tune OK? And how do the missing notes correspond to the voice allocation display on the LCD (although it sounds like they just won't show up)?
Definitely try a soft reset (hold down soft button 4 when turning on the A6). You could also try a hard reset (hold down soft button 3 when turning on the A6), but that will erase all user programs/mixes.
Maybe you can find someone local to you to take a look ... sometimes these things can be evident to someone more familiar with the machine when seen in person.

>Thanks for your response. Since I posted the original question, I've discovered some more puzzling things about my issue. I have read this chapter in the manual, but this bug is a little bit bigger than that.

>Every 6 notes on the keyboard that DO play (not via MIDI, but actual live playing) are followed by 2 notes that DONT play at all. For example, C, Db, D, Eb, E, F all play, but Gb and G do not play. Ab, A, Bb, B, C, Db play, then Eb, E do not play. They also do not output any MIDI. Then, randomly in the upper octaves, this strange organ sound comes in...this happens on every preset, and its always the same sound. Even after I initialized the A6 with the Andromedizer, the keyboard was still messed up. When the A6 receives MIDI, it plays through all of the notes correctly, doesn't skip any, and the mystery sound doesn't play either.

>Do you think the keyboard is actually broken and possibly needs repair? I'm truly baffled as to what might be causing this, especially after I realized that the silent notes weren't outputting MIDI...yet it receives it just fine.

>The use of splits & layers in MIX MODE is described in chapter 2 of the manual. The way they're set up is very sophisticated, and not much like the way it's done on other synths (such as the Alesis Ion/Micron). If you want to play only one sound, without layers and splits, use PROGRAM mode, not mix mode (just press the "program" button, no software normalization [???] required).

>I would STRONGLY recommend understanding how mix mode works from the front panel of the A6 before attempting to control the synth with a computer.

>>Hello everyone,
>>
>>I just recently bought an A6, and I am confused about the keyboard split settings on it. Even when I normalize the A6 with a program on my computer, it defaults to a split keyboard. I looked in the manual and saw how to split it, but I didn't see anything about "de-splitting" if you will. I made sure the keyboard wasn't mapped in such a way that it was making a split, yet it was still there, playing this horrible organ of death sound randomly in the upper octaves. Also, certain notes won't play when I'm playing on the keyboard, but are triggered just fine with MIDI... I'm not sure how to get rid of these things! Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I apologize if this is a really stupid question...but I've tried researching it and can't seem to figure it out!!

>>Thanks so much,
