[A6] sequence triggering

The sequencer can be triggered by pretty much any of the usual modulation sources. I frequently use the footswitch to trigger sequences (useful when both of one's hands are occupied playing guitar).
Appendix B of the manual lists envelope stages as modulation sources, so you would just set the sequence to be triggered by one of those. I'm not sure exactly what values the modulation source outputs (I would assume 0 when the envelope stage is not active, 100? or 50? at the event in question), but tweaking the threshould value should make it pretty clear.
Remember, though, that when triggering a sequence from any source other than note on, the note that will play the sequencer must *already* be on in order for the trigger to work (so in the example above, I press the note that will play the sequence and latch it with a sustain pedal before the song begins, so that the sequence will be available to be triggered by the footswitch).
For me, the lack of ability to trigger notes by any means other than the keyboard, is probably the most significant shortcoming of the A6 (needless to say, that does not prevent it from being my main keyboard). An ideal machine would be able to generate note on messages from the foot switches/pedals, from the ribbon, and from an adjustable threshold level at any of the external inputs. I guess that's what this MIDI stuff I keep hearing about must be for ...
