Ive heard conflicting reports from people that the Andy is actually
unofficially discontinued and the ones that are being sold as new now
are factory refurbs.
Before I imported this one 2nd hand from the USA I had three new ones
from Digital Village and Turnkey in the UK over the span of 10 months.
ALL three of them had the voice tuning problems that have plagued some
of the newest batches and had to be returned (or wait up to six months
for them to be fixed.) Someone else mentioned to me this was a problem
that occurred because of the switch from manufacturing them in Taiwan
from Canada.
How much of any of that is true I have no idea, but I do know I had
three supposedly new units that should of been quality tested before
being sent out which obviously were not.
If you can go and test it in the store before taking it home (if
anywhere has them in stock) that is the best option, it only takes about
5/10 mins to check all keys on all the voices. Alternatively get on
sospubs classifieds or gearslutz and find a nice condition 2nd hand one.
